Week 5

Sorry about this guys, I had to miss week 4 but on week 5 I got caught up with everything from the recap of the flag routine to the dance routine and down to the rifles! I gotta say, missing even one week of Winter Guard is KILLER! I have to remind myself never to be busy on sundays ever again >.<

Anyways today we did recaps of flags as I had said before, as well as the dance routine (well it was my first time learning the routine for me) It brings me back memories of when i took dance classes at the Honolulu Dance Studio ^_^ so nostalgic! We are finally done with about a third of the whole routine so I feel accomplished :) Hope to learn even more next week~!

Winter Guard Week 3

Well... it is two days after the third week of Winter Guard and I am STILL hurting. Well it is expected I guess when you are constantly twirling rifles. anyways, we are slowly getting down more and more of our routine and I admit, I am pretty excited XD Even though I can't really move my left shoulder due to the immense twirling I did on it with no breaks. Once again I have underestimated the power of myself and the intense hard work that the Color guard have to go through to help make a show beautiful. Way to go Color Guard!

Winter Guard (Week 2)

It is (technically) only the second day attending Winter Guard and we are already learning our routine! we started off with some simple dance basics and went straight to it. It was really fun but I wish that the way we learned went a little bit faster. Then again I can't really argue to say since most of the Guards there aren't really dancers. But once again I am really enjoying myself and I hope that it continues to be this eventful!

How I feel in my school hallway sometimes...

No Pain, No Gain

Yesterday was my first Winter Guard practice where we got to learn some basics such as
- Drop spins
- Double fast
- Pop toss
- Half toss
- Full toss

And a whole bunch more that I forgot the names of. (there were too many for my brain to remember. I don't even know if those are the correct names! D:) Day one of practice was packed full of fun, bruises, and pain. I knew it was hard to do color guard but you never truly know how difficult it is until you try it out for yourself!

Any color guard out there!! I give you serious props!

I got hit by flags, hit other people with flags, got caught in the silk, etc. But in all I had a really great time learning the arts of flag twirling. But no one really prepared me for the day after. Today I woke up and my arms were so stiff I literally walked around like a wooden plank for the whole morning. My arms are slowly loosening up and I am able to blog my experiences with you all! :)

Next week.... I'M READY FOR ROUND 2!!!
